Roll Combat VTT

Using the Roll Combat VTT

The Roll Combat VTT is the online table for Knightverge Legacy. This guide is the same help you get inside the table: press ? or the Help button there at any time.

Quick start: players

  1. Join the table

Sign in, open Your tables, and type the join code your Game Master gives you. In the sandbox there is nothing to join: you are already at the table.

  2. Open your Persona

Open the Personas tab and pick your Persona to see the sheet. Your Traits, Vitality and gear live there. Rolls from the sheet go straight to the chat.

  3. Find and move your token

Click your token to select it. Drag it, or use the arrow keys to move it one square at a time. Walls stop you; doors open when the Game Master opens them.

  4. Roll dice

Use the dice tray on the map for any dice, or roll from your sheet. Everyone sees the result in the chat, and 3D dice can be switched off in the top bar.

  5. Take your turn

In a fight the Combat tab and the bar on the map show whose turn it is. When it is yours you get a banner and a chime.

  6. Show where you mean

Alt-click the map or use the Ping tool to point at something. Use Measure to check a distance, and Draw to sketch on the map.

Quick start: Game Masters

  1. Share the join code

Open the Table tab. Your players enter the code at Your tables after signing in.

  2. Set up a scene

Open Scenes to add a map, set the grid and choose whether fog of war is on. You can upload your own map, or start from a ready-to-run encounter that brings its own walls, props and foes.

  3. Draw walls and doors

Pick the Walls tool (W). Drag to draw. Hold Shift for free angles. Walls block sight and movement, windows block movement only, and you click a door in Select mode to open or close it.

  4. Light it and add atmosphere

The Mood tab holds lights, traps, sounds and regions. A token standing in light counts as lit, so a dark scene does not shrink its sight. Players never see these marks.

  5. Place Foes and props

The Foes tab puts Foes on the map as tokens. The Props tab adds furniture and objects: click one to place it, then drag it, rotate it or resize it.

  6. Reveal the map

With fog on, the Fog tool (F) reveals or hides boxes and circles. Reveal all and Reset fog are in the same panel. Switch on fog for the scene first, in Scenes then edit.

  7. Run the fight

Start combat from the Combat tab and add the tokens you want in the order. The bar on the map shows the round and whose turn it is, and everyone gets a banner when the turn moves.

  8. Check what players see

Use Preview as player in the top bar to see the table exactly as a player does, then Exit preview. Handouts can be pushed to everyone at once.
